# Alerts and notifications

> Choose which alerts reach you when something needs your attention.

Go to **Settings → Notifications**. These alerts go to the workspace owner, by email and by SMS or WhatsApp [wherever each is configured](/email-and-sms).

| Alert                     | Sent when                                                                                                                          |
| ------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Gateway goes offline      | A location stops responding — guests there cannot connect or pay. Sent within a few minutes of the last check-in.                  |
| Gateway comes back online | The same location starts responding again, with how long it was down. Useful when power or internet drops and restores on its own. |
| Trial ending reminders    | 7, 3 and 1 day before your free trial ends, then when it ends and on the last of the 3 days you have to choose how to pay.         |
| Payment receipts          | Each time a subscription payment succeeds.                                                                                         |

Turn each one on or off with its toggle.

  Service notices — trial ended, workspace suspended, a wallet too low to auto-renew, and pay-as-you-go invoices, reminders and overdue notices — always send and cannot be switched off. These affect whether your business keeps running.

## Which ones to keep on

**Gateway goes offline** is the one alert worth keeping on always. An offline gateway means nobody at that location can pay you, and it is the failure you are least likely to notice on your own.

If you run several locations and find the pair of offline/online alerts noisy during unstable power, turn off **Gateway comes back online** and keep the offline alert.
